Weekly Favorites

This week has been rather crazy for me. I've been out of town three different times- although no complaining here. A few debutante dress fittings for my younger sister (in which I scouted out my top future wedding dress picks + designers), birthday shopping, and a day of father-daughter bonding at the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center. And of course, some very delicious eats.

Here's what I loved from around the web this week.

-There are few of us that can afford to score a wardrobe full of couture from the latest runway show. For now, I'm content settling with these beautiful illustrations from Sunny Gu on her Etsy shop.

-A sunny outfit from one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Rachel at The Pink Peonies.

-If I ever have a spare $25 million and wanted a villa in Cannes- this is where I'd pick. Perhaps the most gorgeous views I've seen in a while.

-Gorgeous, classic jewelry over at Natalie Merrillyn. Start stocking up!

-You know you love a Chanel-inspired jacket. The Glitter Guide has pictures + details.

-Did you know Tory Burch has a playlist on Spotify?

-A pretty home full of fabrics prints that pop on Design Darling.

Did anything catch your eye this week? Tell me!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! I spent yesterday celebrating and doing some shopping for my birthday in Dallas and had the most delicious lunch at Mariposa in Neiman Marcus. Before lunch they brought out hot popovers and consumme- such a nice and old fashioned birthday surprise. My favorite thing of all though was the huge sale at J. Crew. If you haven't heard, they're having 30% off all sale items (using code MUSTHAVE online), and I picked up a pair of Cafe Capris and a few No. 2 Pencil skirts for dirt cheap. A happy birthday indeed!

Here are my favorite things that happened in the online world this week.

-If you've been following along with The Corner Apartment these past few weeks you'll know that I am really into homemade popsicles right now. The Everygirl (a daily must-read if you've never heard of it) did a few more elaborate recipes for summer pops that I can't wait to try with my new Zoku Ice Pop Maker (more on this later!).

-If you're a regular Matchbook Mag reader like me then you'll recognize these ever-so-chic illustrations from EmmaKisstina. Julie from Julie Leah featured some of her celeb-inspired prints and is hosting a giveaway next week!

-A peak into the colorful world of Jonathan Adler (loving this) over at MadeByGirl has me wishing he could style my new apartment.

-An interview with Sarah Brown, the beauty director at Vogue from Into the Gloss. If you're remotely interested in beauty, magazines, or journalism, this is a really entertaining read.

-A fun take on food, illustration and simplicity over at Paper Fashion.

-Atlantic-Pacific always combines colors and patterns perfectly. This little number is no exception!

I hope everyone relaxes with what remains of the weekend- and try to stay out of the heat!

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend so far. I spent mine doing a bit of cooking, organizing my closet, and refiguring a couple things on the blog (see yesterday's post). Here's what caught my eye this week!

Jess on The Love List had a lovely little interview with Ann Mashburn, who you may remember from April's issue Matchbook Magazine.

Erin Gates from Elements of Style dishes on her apartment- so very lovely!

A generous sampling of pointed-toe flats at Luella & June- the Loeffler Randalls are making me swoon!

Vanilla Bourbon French toast with cardamom berry compote from Julip Made. There's nothing else really to say.

A peek at the ethereal Valentino 2013 resort collection at The Short and the Sweet of It.

Society Social's second Manifesto Magalog (catalog + magazine) is out, and I must say, I am quite smitten.

Cheers!

Always Summer

I am back from a most beautiful and relaxing trip in the mountains of Colorado! I would like to first apologize for my lack of inspiring content- family time and other activities (hiking, train to Pike's Peak, shopping, white water rafting, eating, photo session with wolves, pool lounging, more shopping & more eating) took up much more of my time than expected and left me rather exhausted by the end of the day. Second, everyone must stay at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs at some point in their life. It is a luxurious and beautiful place situated in the mountains, a combination I highly agree with. Third, it's officially the first day of summer! I hope you've been living it up and attempting to keep cool!

Timing

I'm spending a long weekend in Colorado, and while the time change was only an hour back, it is really throwing me off, especially since we had to wake up extra early today to go white water rafting. All I can say about that is: I need a coffee. Immediately.
